Therapy for Men of Color
As a man of color and an immigrant, I personally understand the complexities of living in a world where we deeply feel the things no one wants to talk about or has the language for.
The mental health needs of men are unique and complex. Anger is a “safe” and socially accepted emotion, which oftentimes erases different parts of ourselves and our humanity. It’s debilitating and dismissive. Yet, expanding our emotional awareness and putting language to all of our realities can be one of the most courageous and liberating experiences anyone can have.
I specialize in working with men of color, and explore themes such as:
Expanding and exploring racial identity
Developing emotional transparency and awareness
Understanding family and relationship dynamics
The healing circle: Men of color SUPPORT GROUP
Men of color, and particular Black men, don’t always have a space to express themselves in an affirming, liberated way. Given the recent events, the necessity of this type of safe, nurturing, and accepting space is more important than ever before.
During this 6-week, theme-based experience, members can expect to:
Build a sense of community with each other
Explore the experiences to related to the group’s theme
Expand emotional vocabulary and awareness around these experiences
Share “best practices” and resources to care for self (i.e. self-care techniques, stress management, etc.)
